I have been running on and off. I was introduced to disciplined running in US – when were staying in Reston,VA (right outside Washington DC). There are several very nice trails in that region – one that run right next our apartment. As soon spring starts, I would join many others in jogging on weekends.
When we returned to India for good, was missing the trails but luckily Chennai has nice coastline and would run near the beach occasionally. About 2.5 years back joined a gym to – running on Treadmill is okay but always felt like I missed something.
UNIS Running to me is:
I came across UNIS – last year when I ran my 10k. Then I joined UNIS few months back – excellent team focused on fitness. Constantly motivating and encouraging each other to be disciplined in fitness – both on weekdays and weekends. UNIS is a family now – regular fitness coupled with loads of fun to my everyday routine – thanks to Viji and the group overall !!
Running and Fitness to me is:
I have realized that running helps more with what goes between your ears than what you do with your feet – helps you slow down your busy mind and connect better with oneself. It is not about how many miles you clocked on a particular day but about the excellent feeling of being refreshed and energized – to hit the ground running at work or personal front. It is a long journey – but worthwhile in every sense!!
